Hi Diana, thanks for your comment! Many art patrons that have seen my photos of dead lakes hanging at art festivals were inspired to go kayak the area. I just sold a framed print yesterday at Beaux Miami Art Festival. It is still a remarkable place today, and is very much undisturbed. My parents took me to many of Florida's hidden treasures when I was growing up in the 80s, but now that I'm in my late 20s, I've come to appreciate Florida so much more. You are probably thinking of Clyde Butcher, who stopped going to art festivals years ago. Many people call me a 'young Clyde' as I'm also one of the last large format black and white photographers in Florida.

I wish you could have seen this great lake in the 1960-1990. The trees were still so magnificent that is was breath taking. As a young girl I did not appreciate the beauty, it was simply boring to me. But as an older adult I look back to my memories and reflect on the beauty I remember. There was a photographer in the 80's who took some amazing photos for Deadlakes, but I can not find him. I ran across his display at St. James Art Festival in Louisville, Ky in early 2000's. Can you imagine my surprise as I look at the exhibit and recognize scenes from my childhood and then realize that there were actual artist photographs? I regret not buy some prints then .

lol yeah I try to remember to take things like that (lighting setup shots and such) but it's hard when you're caught up in the moment :). Makes for good blog material though!
