On November 9-11, 2012, I exhibited at the Disney Festival of the Masters. The art show was an absolute blast, one of my favorite shows ever. The crowds were enormous and patrons were here to see some serious artwork. The exhibitions is located at Downtown Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, not too far from where I currently call home.
My booth was directly across from the Disney Quest Arcade, in the middle of the show; my brother and I went to Disney Quest the first week it opened years ago. Growing up in Deerfield Beach, Florida, my family went on many trips to Disney World, where we camped at Fort Wilderness and went to a couple of themeparks. It was especially fun to come back here for the art festival.
Three independent jurors were brought from out of state, who honored me with 1st Place Award in Photography. The ribbon itself was gigantic, almost the size of a tennis racket. The award gives me automatic reentry the following year. I proudly have it hanging my workshop when returning home.
As part of attending the festival, Disney graciously gives the artists several free park day passes, which I’m super excited to use next summer!
