The last week has been busy for my usual slower summer months, with two back to back presentations at the Crealde Art School in Winter Park on Friday, and the Florida Brevard County Camera Club the following Tuesday. The emails and messages thanking me for presentation over the following days were a big emotional boost to get me out shooting new work, especially with black and white film. I consciously focused on color this summer, but spending an hour talking about my silver images makes me want take a small break for color. My digital camera is out for repairs, so maybe I’ll do just that.
My presentations focused on how I found my own black and white style over the past five years, as why I finally began to embrace color. I’ve always believed that explaining your artwork to others helps you better understand it yourself. The Camera Club had a large showing of people, with a head count around 130; check out the photo below. Thanks everybody for coming out!
