Refuge Reef
Stuart & Jensen Beach, Florida
SKU: 525
Photographic Story:
Along the coast of Jensen Beach and Stuart lies an exposed outcropping of Anastasia limestone, which was formed roughly 125,000 years ago. Also known as coquina, the stone is composed primarily of shell and coral fragments, fossils and sand. In this aerial image, you can see the coquina is both exposed on top of the sand on the beach, as well as underwater, below the reef . Combined with a calm summer tide and intense blue water, the resulting image resembles an abstract acrylic pour painting.
