Sanibel Summer

On a warm, stormy morning in Sanibel Island in the summer, I awoke early to take a long walk from my hotel to the east end of the island.  On my last few trips to Sanibel, the skies didn’t cooperate, and I left without an image that did this beautiful island justice.  On my walk over, a gorgeous sunrise began to emerge, and my walk turned into a run for the beach.  I set up my camera in what felt like a world record pace, and then captured this sunrise while a small break of light struck the seagrass and lighthouse.  Built in 1884, this lighthouse was the first constructed on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
