During my time off in the summer, I’ll often kayak alone for days through Florida’s wild rivers, especially in the Panhandle. This part of the state still has much of ‘Lost Florida’ preserved, where a nature traveler like me can find peace and quiet. Many of our state’s most majestic springs are only accessible by water, such as this beautiful gem along the Chipola River. The water has an emerald color, and a unique oak tree growing along the water’s edge. This location is known by very few people, so I’ve titled it ‘Secret Spring’ to keep its beauty preserved.
