On March 16-17, 2013, I was honored with a Best in Show at the Central Park Art Festival in Winter Haven, Florida. The show site is located in the Downtown area, shaded by oak trees over a nice grassy field. The weather was amazing; room temperature with clear skies and a gentle sun. Sales were good, and the show staff were very helpful from setup to takedown. Thanks especially to the show director, Christy, for all the help!
Only weeks ago, I was ecstatic after winning my first ‘Best in Show’ at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. Again, I am overwhelmed with emotion to win; so many great artists here who deserved the award. It is rare that photographers win the top prize at art festivals, especially landscape photographers; and I’ve done it twice, only one month apart! After being drained from several months of back to back shows, working 100+ hours per week, the emotional boost was definitely needed. I’m enthusiastic about my jam-packed schedule of shows in the coming months! Please check out my show schedule and see the Florida 67 Series in person!
My photograph, Big Talbot Island 3 Timelapse, was chosen for permanent exhibition at the Ridge Art Center, as it was the best in show winner. I only had a small 16×20 hanging, so I gave them a framed 32×40. Give them a visit, there making some huge improvements to the building soon!
